This program provides a solid foundational education and enhances students' ability to understand the economic, industrial, commercial, social, and professional environment in which engineering activities take place. It promotes teamwork, critical thinking, and decision-making in everyday contexts. Civil Engineers play a key role in the planning, design, and construction of buildings, bridges, roads, dams, and other infrastructures, maintenance and rehabilitation of the built environment, considering seismic safety and energy efficiency.

The Department of Civil Engineering (DEC) was established in 1996 and currently offers a Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering (1st cycle), three Master's degrees (2nd cycle) and several training and postgraduate courses in the fields of Sustainable Construction and Rehabilitation and Rehabilitation of Railway Infrastructure.
