FCT/UNL student, Ana Rute Ferreira, awarded in Conference

Conference "Net-Zero Energy Buildings"

 

The National Laboratory for Energy and Geology (LNEG) along with the Faculty of Science and Technology, New University of Lisbon organized the 1st Conference on Net-Zero Energy Buildings - Policies & Strategies & Methodologies Underlying Concepts, Applications & Solutions for Net Zero Energy Buildings and Smart Cities Initiative.

The conference was held on the 25ft and 26th April this year, and aimed at the presentation and discussion of the concept to practical application and experience with particular emphasis on international co-IEA International Energy Agency and the Project "Towards Net-Zero Energy Solar Buildings "Task 40 - ECBCS Annex 52.

Apart from the plenary sessions that were conducted by national and international experts, the conference program was complemented by panels which presented the work of undergraduate, masters and doctoral level students, which contribute to the implementation of the concept, products or methodologies of Energy Efficient and Innovative Systems in Buildings and the Cities of the Future.

In this context, the Conference Scientific Committee decided to award the FCT/UNL master's student Ana Rute Ferreira, for the work "Optimization of Design Solutions for Net-Zero Energy Buildings", one of three awards for young researchers who participated in the event.
