NOVA FCT human resources project among the winners of the NOVA ADN awards

23-04-2024

NOVA FCT's "Embracing People" project was one of the winners of the second edition of the NOVA Act Differently (ADN) awards. Of the 27 applications, from all 11 of NOVA's constituent organisations, the NOVA FCT project stood out for its innovative approach to human resources.

"Embracing People" emphasises the importance of integrating and empowering human capital from the point of view of the organisation's sustainability, making it possible to outline an individual orientation for the development of skills and autonomy and, at an organisational level, to maximise cohesion and development. In this sense, NOVA FCT has been reinforcing the valorisation of its human resources, creating greater involvement between the parties, equipping workers with values and skills and creating conditions conducive to personal and professional development. The project also focuses on skills development, autonomy and lifelong learning, as well as promoting work-life balance and mental health.

"NOVA FCT, like all organizations, is in a state of perpetual evolution. Investing in human capital emerges as the solution to the ongoing challenges posed by adaptation to change. It's crucial to consider the needs of employees, aligning them with the organisation's strategic objectives," says Mónica Neto, NOVA FCT's Human Resources coordinator and leader of the project that included the participation of Cristina Brandão, Gracinda Caetano, Patrícia Nunes, Gabriela Lipscomb, Paula Doroteia and Ademário Tavares.

In addition to clinching the prestigious NOVA award, the project also secured the Digitalis Prize.

The ADN awards serve as a platform to identify, endorse, disseminate, and amplify innovative management practices within the institution. The second edition culminated in an awards ceremony on April 22nd.
