8th National Forum on Waste
The Revolution within the Waste Sector
The NATIONAL FORUM ON WASTE once again brings together professionals from the municipal waste sector, in what has become known as the most prominent space for the discussion of topics of the greatest relevance and interest to the market and to all its stakeholders.
Already in its 8th edition, the NATIONAL FORUM ON WASTE, organized by Água&Ambiente magazine, will take place on the 9th and 10th of April, 2014, in Lisbon..
The Revolution within the Waste Sector is the title for the 2014 edition, which will be focused on four major topics:
- Privatization of EGF - Empresa Geral do Fomento (subsidiary company of the Portuguese National Water Company)
- New License for Packaging Waste
- New Policy
- PERSU 2020 - Engaged Solutions
Concerning the PERSU 2020 (Municipal Solid Waste Strategic Plan for 2014-2020), the 8th NATIONAL FORUM ON WASTE is betting on an innovative model in which agents of the sector are called to vote on which are the axes and measures of the Strategic Plan that are priorities for achieving desired goals and which they would like to have under debate in the National Forum on Waste. During the initiative, the most voted measures will be discussed by experts, who will then submit
different positions/ideas about them. At the end of this discussion, participants in the National Forum on Waste will have the opportunity to submit more ideas/solutions concerning measures, after which the best ones in terms of achieving the goals of PERSU 2020 will be voted on in an election held among participants.
It is our intention to present the voting outcome and the ideas conveyed to politicians and decision makers.
All are invited to the 8th NATIONAL FORUM ON WASTE: local authorities, SMAUTs (Municipal and local recycling system companies), the recycling industry, management entities, the APA (Portuguese agency for the environment), the ERSAR (Portuguese water and waste services regulator), supervision/inspection entities… because every opinion counts.
