Professor José Paulo Santos, member of the Physics Departament of FCT-UNL, was appointed “Professeur Associé Recherche de l´UPMC” by the Academic Board of l’Université Pierre et Marie Curie (UPMC). This appointment is based in CV assessment and also on his long-term collaboration with other researchers from UPMC (http://www.upmc.fr).
According to the Shangai 2014, UPMC is ranked in the first place in France and in the sixth in Europe (http://www.shanghairanking.com/ARWU2014.html). UPMC has 5600 teachers and researchers, a staff of 4400 and 30000 students, 6300 of whom are foreigners.
