FCT NOVA PhD Student receives "Best Student Paper Award"

The PhD student in the Doctoral Program in Electrical and Computer Engineering - Specialization in Computing and Perceptional Systems and former student of the MSc in Biomedical Engineering - Leonardo Martins, awarded the prize "Best Student Paper Award" for his entitled "An Image Generator Platform to Improve Cell Tracking Algorithms - Simulation of Objects of Various Morphologies, Kinetics and Clustering".

This work is part of a collaboration between the "Computational Intelligence Research Group" (CA3-UNINOVA) (Professors José Fonseca and André Mora) and the "Laboratory of Biosystem Dynamics" (Tampere University of Technology - Professor André Ribeiro), and it was inserted into the work of the Master's thesis made by the student Pedro Canelas of the MSc in Biomedical Engineering.

The award ceremony took place on July 31, at the Closing Session of the Conference SIMULTECH 2016 ("6th International Conference on Simulation and Modeling Methodologies, Technologies and Applications"), held at the Marriott Hotel in Lisbon.
