NOVA is in the Top 10 in Europe of Young Universities in all areas of study

The NOVA University Lisbon is the only Portuguese university among the best young universities in the world, according to the QS Top 50 under 50 rankings. In the beginning of March 2018 QS announced its rankings by subject areas. NOVA is listed in all five areas of knowledge, and obtained the following rankings among European universities with less than 50 years old:

• Engineering & Technology: the 10th best in Europe (ahead of University of Antwerp and Universidad Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona, among others);

• Life Sciences & Medicine: the 6th best in Europe (ahead of Aalto University in Finland and Universidad Carlos III in Madrid, among others); 

• Natural Sciences: the 7th best in Europe (ahead of Maastricht University in The Netherlands, Linköping University in Sweden, Universidad Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona and Universidad Carlos III ein Madrid, among others);

• Arts & Humanities: the 4th best in Europe (ahead of Maastricht University in The Netherlands, Linköping University in Sweden and Universidad Carlos III in Madrid, among others);

• Life Sciences & Medicine: the 6th best in Europe (ahead of Aalto University in Finland and Universidad Carlos III in Madrid, among others);

• Social Sciences & Management: the 7th best in Europe (ahead of Linköping University in Sweden and Paris-Dauphine University in Paris, among others).

NOVA is thus in the European TOP 10 in all areas of study, in some cases ranked higher than  leading universities such as the University of Maastricht in the Netherlands, the Carlos III University in Madrid, the Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona or the Paris-Dauphine University in Paris.

It is also noteworthy that among the 50 best young universities in the world, only five European universities are listed in all five areas of knowledge: NOVA University Lisbon, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, ​​ University of Antwerp and Linköping University.
