Ana Filipa Santos, student of the Master of Engineering in Micro and Nano Technologies at FCT NOVA, only had to take action once to advance two rounds in the main table of the National Absolute Tennis Championship. This FCT NOVA student is the first to reach the semi-finals, equaling the performance of the last edition.
This debut could hardly have gone better: 6-2 and 6-0 were the partials of the win over Inês Esteves. In theory, the win would put Ana Filipa Santos in the quarter-finals, but the next opponent of the Paço do Lumiar Tennis Club player has already announced that she is not going to play: Inês Murta, the 2014 and 2015 finalist and second seed, was injured and could not make the trip. Now she will have to wait until she meets the next opponent.
With the master's degree in Micro and Nanotechnology Engineering from the Faculty of Science and Technology of the NOVA University of Lisbon almost completed, Ana Filipa Santos continues to manage the thesis and the courts. She has now an absolute National Championship to complete and the goal is to try to go even further.
