Nova School of Science and Technology wins Air Liquid Challenge day

Students from NOVA School of Science and Tecnology's Integrated Master Degree in Chemical and Biochemical Engineering (MIEQB) won the "SWE Talent Event 2019" competition held at the Air Liquid Challenge day on September 14.

The competition consisted on a series of tests that assess soft skills, including leadership, decision making, problem solving, teamwork, public presentation and communication. The challenges were launched simultaneous by videoconference from Paris to teams in Italy, France, Portugal and Spain.

The winning team was the Portuguese one formed by the 5th grade MIEQB students from the Chemistry Department of FCT NOVA: Rafaela Neves, Bruna Coelho, Bernardo Rodrigues, Ana Rita Bruno, Eduardo Silva and Carolina Dias. The winners now have the opportunity to visit the company's production plant in Portugal.

Mário Eusébio, professor of the Chemistry Department of NOVA School of Science and Technology, besides participating in the event, collaborated in the organization of this initiative as well and in the formation of the team. António Carreira and Fernando Estevão, both engineers at Air Liquide Portugal, also participated and co-organized the event.
