The new vent2life.eu platform, from the #ProjectOpenAir movement, brings together a set of skills, technical and specialized knowledge, so essential for the repair of hospital equipment.

The new platform allows the identification of inactive fans that are susceptible to recovery. It is estimated that in this way around 200 fans will be recuperated and will be able to reinforce the health units. This system links donors to specialists capable of recovering this equipment that can help fight Covid-19.

This network of specialists was invited by the Portuguese Engineers Association, by the NOVA School of Science and Technology and by the Porto Higher Engineering Institute. The  Nova Medical School also joined the project, being in charge of liaising with hospital administrations.

The vent2life.eu platform has also volunteers from the Outsystem company, responsible for technical support and programming. It should be noted that all participants on the platform work on a voluntary basis.

The #ProjectOpenAir arose from the desire of a group of volunteers to contribute to the fight against COVID-19, joining efforts that allow health professionals to be equipped with the technical means necessary to provide the best care.
