The technology transfer to the market initiative, R2Value, supported ten teams in its first edition. The program provided the teams with the guidance of professionals from IRIS and Madan Parque who, for four weeks, allowed to design the most effective strategy for the market entry of a product or service, based on technologies developed at the NOVA School of Science and Technology.

This first edition was sponsored by NOVA.ID.FCT, which supported the three best teams with 3,000 euros. This financing aims to leverage the development of technology. The winners were announced at the closing session that took place remotely on the 20th of July.

Cecília Roque, from the winning team Crystal Spirit, congratulated the mentors and organizers. "it was an excellent initiative - it's amazing how much was done in only 4 weeks!" declared.

From Paper-e, the second team awarded the NOVA I.D. scholarship, Ana Carolina Marques explained that “the opportunity to contact and present our product and business plan to influential investors in the technology area was very enriching and fulfilling.”

"The R2 value programme provided precious and timely input to the development of our project and transference of our tecnology into a business", stated Sofia Pessanha, from Radiant, the third winning team.

R2Value is a joint initiative of the IRIS (Innovation, Research & Impact Strategy Office) and Madan Parque, under the aegis NOVA TechShip. This program aims to enable NOVA School of Science and Technology researchers to generate value from the research they develop, using  business development tools, for the commercialization of a product or service based on the knowledge created by the Faculty.
