8th Doctoral Conference and 11th Winter School on Technology Assessment

On April 19 and 20, the NOVA School of Science and Technology hosts the 8th Doctoral Conference and the 11th Winter School on Technology Assessment, events that permit doctoral students to present their research.

Elvira Fortunato, professor and researcher at the Department of Materials Science at the NOVA School of Science and Technology, is the first keynote speaker with the lecture “Current challenges of nanotechnology”. The second leading speaker is Hannot Rodríguez, professor and researcher at the University of the Basque Country, with the presentation "New developments in responsible innovation: RRI, openness, and anticipation".

The final session will be conducted by Manuel Souto, from the University of Aveiro, who will speak about the recent initiatives in the Spanish parliament for the institution of the "Oficina de Ciencia y Tecnología".

Also confirmed are the presence of MEP Maria Manuel Leitão Marques, member of the Science and Technology Options Assessment in the European Parliament  and of MP Firmino Marques, president of the 8th Committee on Education and Science of the Portuguese Parliament.

This event contributes to the realization of the teaching units Thesis Project I (Winter School) and Thesis Project II (Doctoral Conference). The event is public, it will only be necessary to register to fill in the form available here.
