Every year, ClubeMath awards a merit scholarship to the most talented students that start a degree in Mathematics in NOVA School of Science and Technology. This year the winner is Margarida Gomes.
With an admission grade of 192.6, the student admits that the NOVA School was already chosen a long time ago. "Regarding the College there was never any other option but FCT NOVA", she states. "I consistently heard that the atmosphere here was great and now that I'm here I can confirm it. As there are few of us in the course, we are very close, like a family", she explains.
The choice of the area that she would follow was what most divided her. However, the love and the desire to deepen her knowledge in mathematics cemented her decision. "Mathematics has always been my favourite subject", she admits "I have always had great pleasure and ease in solving the exercises proposed by the teachers", she adds.
"I am extremely happy with my choice, which for the moment is fulfilling my expectations, and I am very grateful for this opportunity", she confesses.
The scholarship corresponds to the payment of the tuition fee, registration fee and school insurance awarded to the student with the best admission grade in one of the Mathematics degrees of FCT NOVA. The student must be admitted in the first option via the first phase of the National Access competition, with an admission grade equal to or greater than 180.0.
ClubeMath is a mathematics club for young people from elementary and secondary schools. It exists since 2007 and operates at FCT NOVA, with seven sessions per academic year, on Saturdays. Learn more about this club here.
