Three professors from NOVA FCT signed contracts as Full Professors in an event that took place on June 7th. This is the seventh ceremony of 2023 that strengthens the Faculty's teaching and research staff.
The Department of Environmental Sciences and Engineering now has two more Full Professors: Alexandra de Jesus Branco Ribeiro and Maria Júlia Fonseca Seixas. The Department of Materials Science and Engineering, sees its staff reinforced with a Full Professor: João Paulo Miranda Ribeiro Borges.
During the contract signing, the Director of NOVA FCT, José Júlio Alferes, emphasized the need to increase the number of Full and Associate Professors, stating that "in practice, they have already assumed these roles, but in practice, it is not enough." "It is important that this institution has a roster of Full and Associate Professors that is suitable for the scientific areas it has and its ambitions for these scientific areas," he added.
