09-06-2025

Pedro A.D. Teigas-Campos, a Master's student in Chemical and Biological Engineering at NOVA FCT, was awarded the Prize for Best Oral Shotgun Presentation (ex-aequo) at the 2nd International Conference on Personalised Medicine and (SciEDU 2025), held in Costa de Caparica from May 4th to 7th.

Award-Winning Shotgun Presentation: Advancing Bladder Cancer Precision Medicine This work, awarded Best Oral Shotgun Presentation, showcases a breakthrough in non-invasive monitoring and personalized therapy for bladder cancer. By expanding the urine-based dPPi proteomics platform, the study identified potential druggable targets through pathway-specific protein networks. The integration of proteomics and drug databases paves the way for personalized treatment strategies, marking a significant step forward in prescriptomics and patient-tailored oncology.

This distinction reflects the environment of scientific and academic excellence fostered by NOVA FCT, encouraging its students to develop innovative solutions to today’s societal challenges.
