Around 30 members of NOVA School of Science and Technology, including students, teaching staff, and non-teaching staff, took part as volunteers in the traditional Food Bank Against Hunger campaign, held in three supermarkets in Monte de Caparica, Costa de Caparica, and Almada.
The initiative was coordinated by the NOVA FCT Catholic Students’ Group and was part of the national Food Bank mobilization, which this year collected 2,150 tons of food and will support more than 2,500 Private Social Solidarity Institutions across the country.
Our volunteers were part of the success of this campaign, which aims to help fight hunger and support families facing vulnerability, especially in one of the country’s most deprived districts — Setúbal — where poverty risk levels remain among the highest in Portugal.
