The symposium “Conservation of Cultural Heritage and Sustainability: challenges and experiences” is an initiative of the Directorate of Cultural Heritage of Sport Lisboa e Benfica in collaboration with Sustainability in Conservation and Sustainability in Conservation_Portugal, which will take place on October 14, 2019, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Benfica Museum Auditorium - Cosme Damião.

The notion of sustainability closely related to limited resource management or environmental protection has introduced new approaches and methodologies to the conservation of cultural heritage. This symposium aims to reflect on the growing challenges facing conservation in actively seeking and implementing environmentally friendly and economically viable solutions.
