Professor Ana Aguiar Ricardo (Department of Chemistry - FCT/UNL has been appointed National representative at the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC)

Professor Ana Aguiar Ricardo (Department of Chemistry - FCT/UNL, and REQUIMTE - Associate Laboratory for Green Chemistry), has been appointed National representative at the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) – Chemistry and the Environment Division, for the term 2014-2015.

IUPAC has long been recognized as the world authority in chemical nomenclature, terminology, standardized methods for measurement, atomic weights and many other critically evaluated data.  IUPAC has succeeded in fostering worldwide communications in chemical sciences and in uniting academic, industrial and public sector chemistry in a common language. 

The Division of Chemistry and the Environment provides unbiased and timely authoritative reviews on the behaviour of chemical compounds in food and in the environment.
