NOVA FCT stood out in the 3rd edition of the ADN Awards – Agir Diferente na NOVA, which took place on May 19 at the Rectorate, on the Campolide campus. This initiative aims to recognize, value, and promote innovative practices that contribute to continuous improvement and social impact within NOVA University Lisbon.
The PUFF – Upcycling for Education and the Future Project (Communication and Image) was one of the three Winners of the 2025 ADN Award. This project, which also received a distinction in the Social Action category, promotes the reuse of PVC banners with both environmental and social impact, while also creating employment opportunities for migrant communities — highlighting NOVA FCT’s commitment to sustainability and inclusion.
In the Research Support category, the Researchers on Board project (Innovation, Research and Corporate Relations) was recognized as the best initiative. This project facilitates the effective integration of new researchers at NOVA FCT. As part of this effort, an Interactive Welcome Guide is being developed to provide essential information in a user-friendly and dynamic way.
In the Human Resources Management category, the Training – Strategic Pillar of Human Resources project (Human Resources team) was awarded as the best in its area. This initiative is a strategic tool for economic growth and for the professional, personal, and organizational sustainability of the Faculty’s staff.
This edition of the ADN Awards received 26 applications, reflecting the academic community’s strong commitment to innovation and continuous improvement. A total of 3 main prizes, 3 honorable mentions, and 12 trophies were awarded across various categories.
The jury was composed of Ana Rita Marante (NOVA Administrator and Jury Chair), Mário Pelaio (University of Aveiro), António Cabecinha (University of Algarve), João Paulo Carvalho (Quidgest), Ricardo Oliveira (Digitalis), and Fátima Valério (Caixa Geral de Depósitos).
This edition of the ADN Awards reinforces NOVA FCT’s role as a center of excellence in innovation, sustainability, and social development.
