Professors Carlos Lodeiro and José Luis Capelo, CEOS of PROTEOMASS Scientific Association, just coordinated a special edition of the "Journal Dyes and Pigments" (Elsevier), collecting 28 research works from international groups involving the Light as an analytical tool. This edition is dedicated to 1st IC3EM (Caparica 1st International Congress on Chromogenic and Emissive Materials, 2014) to be held in Costa de Caparica between 8 and 11 September 2014, bringing together 280 optical fields international scientists, based on light and color as measuring instruments. Renowned scientists like Prof. A. Prasanna De Silva (UK), Prof. Fernando Pina (Portugal), Prof. Ramón Martínez-Manez (Spain), Prof. Hello Söderberg (Sweden) and Prof. Engin U. Akkaya (Turkey) will form part of the cast of the conference. 120 oral and 90 posters will complete the congress. A series of IC3EM conferences on emissive materials and Colorimetrics started 2014 in Caparica (Portugal) and aims to expand the name "Caparica" and to link the world through light and color.
