NOVA Environmental Engineering: 40 years for the sustainability of our planet

The course of Environmental Engineering, from NOVA, celebrated 40 years. The celebrations began on September 27th in a session that was attended by the President of the DCEA, Professor Júlia Seixas, the Director of FCT NOVA, Professor Doctor Fernando Santana, and the Mayor of Almada, Dr. Joaquim Judas.

Testimonies were also presented by former Environment Ministers of Portugal, who analyzed the last 40 years of Environment Policy in our country. A keynote speech was followed by Marco Maria Pedrazzo, on the theme "Senseable Cities", and a balance on "Who We Are" and "Where We Are" in NOVA's Environmental Engineering.

The FCT NOVA Environmental Engineering course started in 1977, having been a national pioneer and one of the first to be created worldwide. He has graduated about 2 thousand professionals, who have given in Portugal - and a little throughout the world - an important contribution to the sustainability of our planet.
