NOVA School of Science and Technology holds Participatory Workshop for Sustainability at Caparica campus

The 1^st NOVA School of Science and Technology (FCT NOVA) Sustainable Participatory Workshop was held on November 21, 2018, in Sala Ágora, as part of the work of the FCT NOVA Sustainability Strategy,

The workshop began with a welcome address from FCT NOVA Director, Virgílio Cruz Machado, and a brief presentation of the Sustainable FCT NOVA initiative by the President of the Department of Environmental Sciences and Engineering, Júlia Seixas. This was followed by an interactive session on perceptions of current sustainability on the Caparica campus and a group working session to jointly build a vision for the FCT NOVA Sustainable Campus. The workshop concluded with an exercise among all participants on future perspectives and next steps to achieve the desired vision.

This workshop was attended by 44 stakeholders (76% adherence) from the FCT NOVA campus representative of the several sectors - Departments, Research Centers, Services and Students - and resulted in the co-creation of a vision for a + Sustainable campus.

Participants scored a final grade of 9/10 on overall satisfaction with the workshop.
