Carla Ferreira is one of the researchers highlighted in the Women Create Value event


Carla Ferreira, professor in the Department of Computer Science and researcher at NOVA LINCS, of NOVA School of Science and Technology | FCT NOVA, is one of the researchers in focus in the "Women Create Value". The event promoted within the scope of the "Engineers for a Day" programme will take place on 8 March in Coimbra.

The initiative organized together by the Commission for Citizenship and Gender Equality, the INCoDe.2030 Programme and the Secretary of State for Citizenship and Equality, Rosa Monteiro, intends to celebrate the International Women's Day by highlighting the vanguard work of women scientists and researchers.

The research of Carla Ferreira is focused on the development of techniques and tools for the creation of reliable software systems. She has collaborations with national and international partners including Imperial College London, Sorbonne Université, OutSystems and Oxford University. She is currently coordinating the TaRDIS project which includes 11 European partners and has been supported with more than 7 million euros under Horizon Europe, the European Union's programme dedicated to funding research projects. The project aims to develop, accelerate and operate computer systems to promote European technological innovation.

The event takes place at the Portuguese Communications Foundation, starting at 9am, and will also be broadcast live on the INCoDe.2030 website and on the Commission for Citizenship and Gender Equality Facebook. The session will be attended by Ana Catarina Mendes, Minister of State and Parliamentary Affairs and Mário Campolargo, Secretary of State for Digitisation and Administrative Modernisation.
