NOVA FCT's food solution wins 10th Crédito Agrícola Innovation Award

ImproVITA, the natural preservative to extend the shelf life of products in the IV range, was the winner of the 10th edition of the Crédito Agrícola Entrepreneurship and Innovation Award, in the "Food Safety and Nutrition" category.

The initiative is the result of Des Solutio, a NOVA FCT spin-off co-founded by Alexandre Paiva and Ana Rita Duarte, both professors and researchers in the School's Department of Chemestry. This preservative, designed as an alternative to chemical preservatives, has a natural origin, giving consumers access to safer and more nutritious food for longer periods of time.
