Reboot is the new international festival of Digital Arts and New Media

10-10-2019

Reboot is the new international festival of Digital Arts and New Media, taking place from October 10th to 13th at the Baldaya Palace, Benfica, Lisbon.

Between lectures, an exhibition and a doctoral symposium, the festival invites to criticism, scientific production and transdisciplinary artistic interventions. “We want to break free from the art/science dichotomy, the idea that science and art are opposed, and drive transdisciplinary digital creativity", explains the organization in the website.

Ben Grosser (Computers Watching Movies) and Pedro M. Cruz (“Simulated dendrochronology of U.S. immigration (1830-2015)”) are the artists in focus at this festival. Larry Shea, professor at Carnegie Mellon University, is the keynote speaker with the lecture “There's No Place Like Phone: AR, digital infrastructures, and performance”.

The Reboot festival is organized by the PhD program in Digital Media, the result of a collaboration of more than 10 years between the NOVA University of Lisbon, through NOVA School of Science and Technology and NOVA FCSH, and the University of Porto.
