NOVA creates a reference laboratory in advanced materials in the Lisbon and Tagus Valley Region

On 14 April 2021, at 11 am, a reference laboratory on advanced sustainable materials will be launched. NANOVA is the new project of CENIMAT | i3N, from the NOVA School of Science and Technology | FCT NOVA, directed by scientist Elvira Fortunato, professor, researcher at FCT NOVA and Vice-rector of NOVA.

The creation of the new laboratory, which will feature cutting-edge technological equipment, aims to strengthen the research capacity in the field of materials, with an impact on the transfer of technology to various industrial sectors at regional, national and international levels.

Being a cutting edge infrastructure and excellence, NANOVA uses financing from the Lisbon and Vale do Tejo Regional Coordination and Development Commission (CCDRLVT).

The ceremony will be attended by the Minister of Science, Technology and Higher Education, Manuel Heitor, the Minister of Territorial Cohesion, Ana Abrunhosa, the Secretary of State for the Valorization of the Interior, Isabel Ferreira, the President of CCDRLVT, Teresa Almeida, the Mayor of Almada, Inês de Medeiros, NOVA's Rector, João Sàágua, NOVA's Vice-rector, Elvira Fortunato and the Dean of NOVA School of Science and Technology, Virgílio Cruz Machado.
