Sustainability is one of the commitments of the NOVA School of Science and Technology, which has been instituting new measures to promote a more conscious and participatory community.


Considered the 66th best in the world, NOVA stands out at the national level, leading the ranking, around 100 positions ahead of the second Portuguese institution evaluated.


This scholarship program allows doctoral students to carry out a period of research at a North American university or research center, stimulating the exchange of knowledge between the two countries.


The European Conference on Logics in Artificial Intelligence is a biennial forum for the discussion of logic-based approaches to Artificial Intelligence. The 17th edition of JELIA was held online, May 17-20, 2021, at Klagenfurt University, Austria.


The meeting is part of the second session “Train & Act - Blue Economy Technology Transfer Programme”, promoted by the project Interreg Atlântico EMPORIA4KT, coordinated by NOVA School of Science and Technology | FCT NOVA.


The meeting brought together representatives from Art, Technology and Shopping Centers to debate the alliance between art and technology and how this collaboration can respond to human needs and add value to society.


Applications for the second phase run until the 22nd of July.



The line of research developed at the School has been bearing fruit in the area of ​​intelligent conversational agents in domains as general as Wikipedia, and in specific domains such as online shopping, in partnership with Farfetch. 


One of the most recent finds is an almost complete and very well preserved carnivorous dinosaur foot.

This visit aimed to reinforce ties between Brazil and Portugal for future cooperation. With the School, possible partnerships in scientific projects, in the area of ​​space, and international cooperation were studied.


The Environmental, Engineering and Industrial Management and Mathematics Applied to Risk Management courses at the NOVA School of Science and Technology will also be taught in Cairo, starting in the 22/23 school year.
