Integrated Master in Mechanical Engineering

Started in the academic year 2008/2009. The minimum number of credits to obtain Master's degree is 300.  The Master is accredited by the Ordem dos Engenheiros and the FEANI (European Federation of National Engineering Associations) in order to assign the EUR ING title (European Engineer).

Objetivos

The aim of the MSc Course in Mechanical Engineering (MIEM) is to train engineers with a solid preparation on engineering sciences, covering the fields of mechanics, solids and fluids, applied thermodynamics, structural mechanics, materials characteristics and behavior and manufacturing processes. In the ending learning stage course emphasizes the areas of machines project, industrial technology, metal structures and thermal equipment.

Given the great diversity of interest areas of Mechanical Engineering the MIEM is presented as a course without ramifications comprising five academic years focusing in the requirements of companies (industrial or services) and organizations (public or private) in the fields of Mechanical Engineering (project, production, consulting, teaching and research, management of energy resources and the management and maintenance in the industry area).
