Bolsa de doutoramento dual-degree CMU-Portugal

The Language Technologies Institute (LTI) (http://www.lti.cs.cmu.edu) at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), School of Computer Science, and the NOVA Laboratory for Computer Science and Informatics (NOVA-LINCS) (http://nova-lincs.di.fct.unl.pt) at Universidade NOVA de Lisboa have joint PhD openings in the area of Language Technologies/Computer Science.  The student will receive a dual degree through the Carnegie Mellon Portugal Program (CMU Portugal) (http://www.cmuportugal.org/tiercontent.aspx?id=126) and spend at least two years at LTI/CMU and at least two years at NOVA-LINCS/NOVA.  The scholarship consists of a tuition grant and stipend support.

Research: Serious games for speech therapy

 The student’s research will focus on the development of serious games and algorithms for speech therapy. This includes signal processing algorithms and machine learning algorithms for speech and other signals (image). This scholarship is offered in the context of the BioVisualSpeech project (http://novasearch.org/biovisualspeech/).
