O Professor Virgílio Cruz Machado, Presidente do Departamento de Engenharia Mecânica e Industrial da FCT NOVA, é o primeiro português a ser agraciado com o prémio “IEOM Distinguished Service Award - in recognition and appreciation of the Excellence in Leadership and Outstanding Support and Service in the Industrial Engineering and Operations Management Profession”.
Trata-se de um prémio atribuído pela “IEOMSI - Industrial Engineering and Operations Management Society International”, a maior e mais importante associação internacional de Engenharia Industrial.
