This year's gathering focuses on the theme "Catalysing Diversity in Science"
This grant is part of an European programme that aims to support the creative and innovative potential of researchers holding a PhD who wish to acquire new skills through advanced training and international, intersectoral and interdisciplinary mobility.
The gathering will unite academic experts from prominent international research institutes and universities, industry professionals from both large companies and SMEs, along with representatives from the European Commission and government bodies.
Three exhibitions, a film series and book recommendations are among the events that NOVA FCT, in collaboration with the Library, is organising to mark the 50th anniversary of 25 de Abril.
On this day, 12 teams out of the 200 projects developed will take the stage to present their ideas to a jury comprising representatives from both industry and academia.
The event demonstrated an exceptional level of dedication and passion on the part of the next generation of innovators. The main focus of this competition was to turn waste into valuable resources and promote circular economy solutions.
The event aims to contribute to collaboration between NOVA FCT students from different areas, creating synergies between the skills of each student to explore new ideas.
The workshop will allow NOVA FCT students to reflect on their skills and assets, career options and how to establish relationships with professionals and companies.
Catarina Maria is currently a PhD student, with a scholarship awarded by the Foundation for Science and Technology, and her research is centred on the synthesis and application of new antibacterial drugs and prodrugs.
The three Portuguese researchers are from the NOVA FCT Department of Physics, in Lisbon (Jorge Machado, Mauro Guerra and José Paulo Santos, the coordinator).
The program includes "Inspirational Talks" and mentoring sessions designed to stimulate and cultivate students' towards creating value.
Ana Cecília Afonso Roque, Carlos Lodeiro Espiño, and Rui Manuel Freitas Oliveira have been promoted to the position of Full Professors.
